mogmin. is the artistic work of Megumi Haruna, Representative of Amoa Japan.
Music, photography, art, fashion, travel.
What is expressed, where, and how keeps changing.
What was felt in the moment,
what moved the heart,
curiosity about worlds not yet seen.
That is where the next creation begins.
Rather than fitting into a single title,
staying honest to who I am in that moment,
and freely choosing the very way to express it.
If it is sound, it becomes music.
If it is light, a photograph.
If it is form, a product.
If it is a philosophy, a brand or an experience.
Everything met along the way in life
leads to the next work.

A sound I found beautiful.
Light I saw on a journey.
Meeting people.
What I felt in nature.
A sudden sense of unease,
a feeling not yet put into words.
Instead of letting it pass by,
I try giving form to what remains inside me.
Thinking while making,
finding the next view while moving.

These words describe not only mogmin.’s works,
but a whole way of living.

mogmin. is drawn to things
that a single name cannot fully explain.

- Senses and science.
- Nature and technology.
- The ancient and the modern.
- Art and business.
- Japan and the world.
Standing between things that seem far apart,
sensing what they share and the relationships not yet seen.
Then mixing.
Testing.
Making them resonate.
Making things that have no name yet,
born when different things meet.

Finding the possibilities in that “in-between,”
and turning them into new expression.
That is mogmin.’s creation as a Sound Alchemist.
SOUND ALCHEMIST
Blending resonance.
At the center of mogmin.’s expression is sound.
Piano from the age of three.
Ears that have finely distinguished sounds since childhood.
Encounters with many instruments.
And the Crystal Bowl.
Drawn to the frequencies and overtones of each sound,
and to the resonance born when sounds overlap,
this led to today’s exploration of Pure Intonation.
Listening.
Measuring.
Combining.
Performing.
Moving between the senses and research,
creating the resonance born of that place, that person, that moment.
“Blending resonance.”
That is the meaning
held in the words Sound Alchemist.

which Amoa Japan holds dear,
also runs through mogmin.’s own work.
When something is interesting, touch it.
When you want to know, research it.
If there is a place you want to go, go.
If there is something you want to make, make it.
And actually try it out in your own life.
Music, art, brands, travel, work.
Being the first practitioner yourself.
What is felt and discovered there
becomes works, becomes projects,
and in time grows into new activities at Amoa Japan.

Connecting making and living.
I don’t believe there is one finished form
of living as yourself.
People change.
Interests change.
Where we live changes.
The people we meet, and the world we see, change too.
So, feeling who I am in each moment,
I choose, move, and make.
The “freedom” mogmin. wants to express
is not about doing whatever you like.
It is noticing what you feel,
choosing for yourself,
and making those choices your life.
It is the accumulation of that.
Trusting your own senses.
Enjoying your own possibilities.
And using the person you are
to go and see worlds you don’t yet know.
Living life itself as a single Creation.

Making a dream the present tense.
mogmin. has a story that is still unfolding.

Rather than leaving a dream as “something nice if it comes true someday,”
this project leaves the journey toward it as a work in itself.
Performing.
Traveling.
Meeting people.
Failing.
Making again.
All of it together moves the story forward.
Rather than cutting out only the results,
living the very time spent moving toward the dream.
By recording, expressing and sharing that,
someone’s own sleeping “I want to try” might begin to move too.

a road to mogmin.’s own dream,
and at the same time an experiment in
“making your own life, yourself.”

rather than presenting one finished answer,
there is the joy of continuing to ask, using one’s own life.
