Choosing what to wear
is also a small Creation, a way of expressing yourself.
What MEGAMi wants to make are
clothes that reveal the character of the person wearing them.
Feel your own body,
trust your own senses,
and choose what you truly love.
When a person is truly themselves,
what is inside naturally comes out,
and each of us begins to give off a different light.
MEGAMi is a brand for wearing that light.

WHY MEGAMi?
Born from a name, it became a philosophy.
It began with the name of designer Megumi Haruna.
Abroad, whenever the name “MEGUMI” was given,
people kept pronouncing it “MEGAMI.”
From that chance resonance came
an encounter with the word “MEGAMI,” which means “goddess.”
And after the Crystal Bowl performances began,
people who saw them often said it was “like a goddess.”
A word that came by chance from a name
slowly began to take on meaning through years of expression.
In time, that sound, “MEGAMI,”
took shape as a brand.
The final I became a lowercase i.
Into it we put the meaning of the “light” within each of us.

Who you are becomes your light.
What MEGAMi believes in
is not the beauty of becoming like someone else,
but the beauty that appears when a person is truly themselves.
- Knowing yourself.
- Accepting yourself.
- Loving yourself.
When your relationship with yourself grows
and you can stand at your own center, thinking “I am enough as I am,”
the character that is yours alone naturally comes through.
That is what we call “light.”
So we made the last letter of MEGAMI a lowercase i.
Each person’s i
holds its own light.
Without hiding that light,
standing in the world as who you are.
Into the name MEGAMi itself
we have put the world this brand wants to create.

At the root of MEGAMi
is a very simple wish:

Just as each sound resonates while keeping its own character.

and as those lights gather, the world becomes richer.
